We specialize in cleaning all types of leather and getting your leather couches back to clean. We can confidently assess and identify different types of leather such as pigmented leather, aniline leather, nubuck leather, and suede leather.

PRESERVE LEATHER WITH DEEP CLEANING
While leather furniture isn’t as absorbent as more common types of upholstery, such as fabric, it still takes on the same dirt, pollutants and allergens. Leather dries out over time, losing its softness and color, specifically with larger pieces of leather that take on everyday wear and tear, like leather couches. For leather furniture that endures normal soiling, we recommend a professional cleaning every 6-12 months. For leather in high traffic environments, it’s best to clean around every 3 months.
REMOVE DIRT AND SOIL FROM LEATHER
When we clean leather upholstery we use specific cleaners, moisturizers and protectors based on your leather. We apply—and then remove—a cleaner that wipes out damaging soils. This ensures no residue or dirt is left behind..
PREPPING YOUR LEATHER FOR CONDITIONER
After cleaning, we heat the leather upholstery to open its pores so it will accept the conditioner and allow for maximum absorption.
APPLY CONDITIONER TO REPLENISH NATURAL OILS
Once the leather is prepped, the conditioner is applied onto the surface. Conditioner makes leather softer by replenishing its natural oils and helping it last longer. This also helps to maintain the leather’s integrity and pliability

Microfiber Upholstery Cleaning

MICROFIBER FURNITURE IS SUSCEPTIBLE TO SPILLS AND SPOTS
Microfiber couches are often made from polyester. Polyester is oleophilic which means it attracts oils easily especially those from pets and people. Despite its durability, microfiber often shows moisture-related rings from previous spot cleaning, perspiration and spills.

APPLY PROTECTOR TO REPEL AGAINST FUTURE SPILLS AND SOILS
We carefully flush the fabric and prepare the piece for safe protector application. Since polyester attracts and absorbs oily soils, microfiber should be protected after cleaning. Our protector keeps dirt from sticking onto your microfiber and protects it against everyday soils like pet and human body oils, drinks, etc. This helps extend the life of your couch and maintain its prime condition.
DEODORIZE TO REMOVE ODORS AND FRESHEN MICROFIBER
Just like for protector, we make sure your microfiber is safe for the application of deodorizer. This coating helps eliminate odor-causing bacteria by working deep within the fabric and eliminating the food source that the bacteria feed on. It neutralizes odors at the source all while providing a pleasant fragrance on your microfiber.

Our commercial upholstery cleaning service uses the same cleaning process as our residential upholstery cleaning. We pump hot water into your upholstery to release any dirt, then extract the water to remove the dirt from deep within.

Your specific upholstery fabric will determine which cleaning method we use. While the cleaning method along with optional protector application determines the drying time, typical dry time ranges from 2-6 hours. Learn more here.
We are often asked about steam cleaning upholstery. However, at Stanley Steemer we do not steam clean furniture. We use a process called hot water extraction to clean upholstery, which is often referred to as steam cleaning because of the steam you see as we clean. Cleaning upholstery can vary greatly based on the fabric. Before you clean upholstery make sure you check the manufacturer’s cleaning instructions. Typically, the tag of any upholstered furniture will have one of four different letters on it.
- W — You can clean this material using water.
- S — No water. You’ll need to purchase a special solvent-based cleaner.
- WS — You can use water or a solvent-based cleaner on this sofa.
- X — Vacuum only.
